Highlights of Glenn Walters’ Local Community, State and National Involvement include:
· Rio Rancho High School – Elected/selected overall parental leader for four consecutive years (1999-2003).
· Rio Rancho High School – Helped create and was elected first President of the dRAMa Guild to support the performing arts at the school.
· Eagle Ridge Middle School – Appointed as parent advisor to school’s Site Management Council for 3 years.
· Rio Rancho Public Schools – Appointed to District Parent Advisory Council for 6 years.
· Rio Rancho Public Schools – Co-Lead Rio Rancho School District Strategic Plan (last 3 plans)
· Rio Rancho Performing Arts Association – helped create and currently serve as a founding board member.
· First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho - Elected Chairman of the Personnel Committee for last 6 years. Also served as the elected Chair of the Church Constitution Rewrite Committee and elected Chair of the most recent Associate Pastor Search Committee.
· City of Rio Rancho - Appointed to Rio Rancho Mayor Swisstack’s Administration Transition Team and active participant with Downtown Rio Rancho Planning Charettes.
· City of Rio Rancho - Coach/mentor for the City of Rio Rancho City Clerk’s office in assessing their processes, resulting in Pinon level recognition with the New Mexico Quality Awards.
· City of Rio Rancho - Member of the City of Rio Rancho Vision 2020 Committee (1999) – Elected Vice Chair for the Growth & Economic Development Policy Working Group.
· Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce – Co-leader and co-primary trainer for the innovative 2 year Quality University member program and associated Brown Bag sessions. Also served as a Judge for the Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards for 2 years.
· New Mexico House of Representatives – Senior Analyst, House Education Committee – last 4 years and Transportation Committee in 2005
· New Mexico Public Education Department - Appointed by the NM Secretary of Education for a two-year term (July 2006-June 2008) for The Secretary’s Assessment and Accountability Advisory Council based upon demonstrated expertise and experience in school assessment and accountability. Reappointed in 2008 for a second two-year term.
· Quality New Mexico (QNM) - Currently serving 6th year on the Board of Directors and lead as Board Champion for Assessment/Recognition Programs and Processes.
· QNM - Co-led team that created the innovative and highly successful (and frequently duplicated by other states) New Mexico Quality Awards – Pinon, Roadrunner & Zia. Served as co-administrator for the awards program for 4 years.
· Appointed as a member of the NM Leadership Team to the Nationwide Baldrige in Education Initiative (BiE IN).
· US Department of Commerce - Selected and served the nation as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Examiner (1996-1998)
· Selected and served the entire Federal Government as a Lead Examiner with the President’s Quality Awards (PQA) for 7 years and was the developer of training and the trainer for all PQA Examiners nationwide for 6 years.
· US Department of Energy - Developer of training and trainer for the Quality Awards Board of Examiners for 6 years.
· State of Nevada - Served as the Lead Judge for their state quality awards and assisted them in starting their quality awards state program (2002 & 2003).
· American Society for Quality (ASQ) - Serves in a variety of leadership roles for ASQ, a not-for-profit membership organization with over 100,000 members worldwide. Roles included the immediate past Chair of the ASQ Team and Workplace Excellence Forum (around 2,500 members in the forum), long time member of ASQ’s International Team Excellence Awards Leadership Team and served as an International Team Excellence Award Lead Judge for 7 years. Also, past Vice Chair for ASQ’s Education Division’s Workforce Development focus (2 years).
· ASQ - Host and primary trainer for one of the preliminary judging site for the International Team Excellence Awards, October 2007 in Rio Rancho – 28 people from all over the US attended. Again, in October 2008 served as primary trainer and co-host for 27 people.
